Cherries!
We have a friend who asked us to come help her pick her cherries, as they have more than they can keep up with. Who could say no to that?

I love how cherry picking so clearly showed each of their personalities. Bunny was up the ladder as quick as a little mountain goat, picked a few cherries, and then leapt off (the top rung) of the ladder, wanted to move it so that she could pick another clump of cherries, from a different tree.

Birdie waited, and watched her sister, then steadily and slowly climbed up the ladder, asking my mom, who had come with us, to hold it for her. She then proceeded to pick every single cherry in her reach, discarding those that were not to her liking.

My enthusiastic, joyful, exuberant Bunny.

My dedicated, thoughtful, determined little Bird.
Do you ever just sit in amazement that such little people are so much themselves?

Oh, so sweet! Love that basket (a must for market, right?). Funny that we’re wearing sweaters (at least the little ones) in July! Thank you for the lovely pictures!

I think the same thing every day. What amazes me is how their personalities change. I think I have them all figured out, but then they begin to grow into someone a little bit different and try out parts of themselves that are new. It is fun to watch. Aren’t we so thankful that we can.
And, oh how I wish a friend would call me over to pick cherries! I am a teensy, or a tonsy bit jealous.

I went on a walk past a cherry tree today – two actually, Bing and Ranier. But sadly, I can no longer eat cherries as I’ve developed allergies. Saddest thing ever. They’re so beautiful and one of my favorite fruits. (Sigh) I love the personalities in the photos. And yes, I continually marvel at the selves in little tiny people.

I love your shots and those cherries! I agree completely that each little person is definitely their own little person! Cherry eaters and cherry pickers! Cherry likers and cherry haters!

Beautiful reflections and gorgeous pictures!
I love to see how my own identical twins are so different too. It is often in those simple daily acts that we notice their differences.

I am grateful nearly daily that I discovered a parenting style that allowed me to appreciate the amazingness of my children as they are and not as little blank slates (or worse, born sinners) who need to be trained and molded.
Lovely post.
